Amelkis Golf Club is another course located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, designed by Cabell Robinson and opened in 1995. Currently there are 3 loops of 9 holes, but Amelkis should be a full 36 hole layout by October 2009.

The course is very close to Royal Marrakesh and the basic topography used to be the same - pretty flat! What a difference 80 years makes - the use of modern machinery in the form of computers and bulldozers has allowed Cabell Robinson to produce a 'links' like feel to the course, albeit with palm trees rather than Scots Pine. Admittedly there is a lot of sand around to play with - some has been retained for the bunkers (!) and other areas left as typical 'desert wasteland'. Whilst there are quite expansive fairways, there is also a lot of water, so pretty tough!
