Morooco, Kingdom of Golf - an 'exotic' destination, but still only 3 - 4 hours from most UK airports. Golf facilities are being expanded rapidly in Morocco, with 20 new courses under construction for 2010 to add to the existing 17.
There are 4 main areas for golf in Morocco (we have joined 2 together) - Marrakesh, Agadir and Casablanca/Rabat/Fes/Tangier.
It was the previous king, King Hassan II, a great golf enthuiast, who started the expansion of golf in Morocco. Most of the names of the clubs all start with 'Royal'! He employed the best course designers such as Robert Trent Jones and Cabell Robinson to design his courses - Royal Dar Es Salam is acknowleged as one of the top 100 in the world and having played it, we cannot disagree!
Morocco is a country full of contrasts, culture , history and spectacular scenery and well worth experiencing and exploring whilst there.

Most of the courses in Morocco are fairly flat and caddies are compulsory at a cost of between 70-100 dirhams (about 7-10.00?). You can have buggies, but still have to pay for the caddy. It is expected to tip the caddy as well and we would normally suggest 100 dirhams, or more if he is very good! (It is worth asking the caddymaster what the usual tip is expected to be as well). Many of the caddies are now good golfers, as there is a commendable scheme amongst the clubs where the caddies receive free coaching and golf - something that would be otherwise impossible for them to afford.
All of our packages to Morocco will include transfers from airport to hotel and to golf. Whilst it is possible to hire cars, we would not recommend doing so. Apart from the road signs being in Arabic and no sat-nav available, driving standards are very different to ours. Taxis are quite reasonable for any excursions or we can arrange these for you.
