Belek in Turkey is now a very popular destination for UK golfers - mainly because most packages are 'all-inclusive', so the costs of a holiday are known.

The hotels are mostly 5 star and most have their own courses - choosing the right hotel if quite important if you want to play certain courses as the 'resident' green fee rates are significantly cheaper. The courses themselves are usually immaculate and there are certainly some extremely good tests of golf. Most are tree-lined parkland courses with the exception of Lykia Links - a genuine links course and well worth the forty minute or so drive.

There are some courses, such as National and Carya, which are not owned by a hotel, so ideal to add to a standard hotel package if you want a change of scenery. Apart from Lykia all the courses are a very short transfer from the hotels.

Whilst most of the hotels are 5 star, there are differences. All are comfortable, some luxurious. Some are relatively small, such as Sueno, others are huge with more than 700 rooms. Everything is relative though - the larger the hotel, the larger the choice of bars, restuarants and other facilities. All have buffet restuarants with the larger hotels also having themed restuarants as well. On the whole, the standard of catering is excellent considering the numbers of guests and all offer a huge variety of dishes from most cultures, so you would be very unlucky to be disappointed!
