As the Morocco National Tourist Board brochure says ' Between the eternal snows of the Atlas and the burning desert sand, Marrakesh has been fashioned just like a work of art.'
And there are some golf courses as well! Royal Marrakesh is the second-oldest course in Morocco, built in 1923, Palmeraie is another Robert Trent Jones course and Amelkis was designed by Cabell Robinson. These courses are being expanded to 36 holes with 2 more new courses within a year or so.
Marrakesh itself must be visited - the Jemaa el-Fna Square is a UNESCO Heritage site, there is an enormous souk and wonderful gardens. Many of the hotels are situated on the golf courses, but you can also stay in a riad, small boutique hotels converted from old palaces. And then there are the stunning views of the Atlas Mountains.
